जैक्वार्ड एक जेकक्वार्ड लूम पर बुना हुआ कपड़ा है, एक मशीन लूम जिसका आविष्कार 1804 में फ्रांसीसी कपड़ा शिल्पकार जोसेफ मैरी जैक्वार्ड ने किया था। इस करघे से बुने गए कपड़ों में जटिल पैटर्न होते हैं जो सीधे कपड़े में बुने जाते हैं। इसलिए, बुनाई पैटर्न वाला कोई भी कपड़ा जेकक्वार्ड के समान होता है, लेकिन तकनीकी रूप से केवल जेकक्वार्ड करघे से बुने हुए कपड़े को ही ऐसे कपड़े का एक सच्चा उदाहरण माना जा सकता है।

Primarily valued for its decorative qualities, jacquard is also a relatively durable and heavyweight fabric, and these attributes can be accentuated by weaving jacquard with wool or other durable materials. Uncommonly used in casual wear due to its complexity and relatively high cost, textile manufacturers use jacquard more frequently for formal wear such as evening wear and men's suits. The fabric is also ideal for a variety of household items, including curtains, duvets and furniture upholstery.
